Originally from Canton, Mississippi, Emily Sanders graduated from The University of Mississippi with a major in hospitality management. Since her graduation, she has worked in the hospitality and event planning fields.
Throughout her childhood, Emily’s father was a home building contractor, so she grew up having a hand in flipping houses. She learned from an early age the importance of great quality building and design.
Event planning reinforced this knowledge with Emily. She quickly learned the impact that great interior design had on the mood of an event. As she progressed in her event planning career and started doing more wedding design, which involved setting up different lounges and specific spaces at receptions, she was reminded of how important attention to design detail is. “I love details! Whether in events or in home or commercial design, design details speak so loudly. They convey personality and establish a mood. Of course, the base pieces are of utmost importance too. This is why it’s important to hire professional designers and planners! The balance between ‘big picture’ and ‘well detailed’ is hard to strike for those who don’t know what they’re doing.”
Emily loves working with all different types of people and values the importance of superior customer service. “I believe customer service is what makes or breaks any business. I am excited to serve my clients well with professionalism and expertise,” Emily shares.
Emily gets married in November of this year and has big plans for the design of her new home. Her personal design style is “updated traditional” with an emphasis on clean neutrals and stained woods. She is also working on slowly growing a collection of original artwork to serve as the color in her home. “I love seeing different personal collections of original art. They are so telling and inspiring, and original art always has a back story. It’s a great starting point for building a timeless design with endless talking points!”
